George Babbington has over 25 years experience in the UK and US music
industries.
His clients include several major artists as well as management companies
and digital distribution companies. He has also in the past represented a
number of the major record companies as well as several large independent
record labels and distributors (physical and digital).
His specialisms include:
George has in the past year worked on several major artist renegotiations
as well as the acquisition of the catalogue of a very high profile artist.
George started work in the music business at Virgin Records in the 1980s and became Director of Legal and Business Affairs for all of its associated labels. In 1990 he moved into private practice, initially working in the London office of a large LA firm, gaining experience in both New York and Californian music law before starting his own firm in the early 1990s. He joined Harbottle & Lewis in 2010.
