Harbottle & Lewis advise Omnifone on exclusive Vodafone UK deal

Harbottle & Lewis has advised Omnifone, the UK based mobile music company, on its exclusive new agreement with Vodafone UK. Under the deal Vodafone UK will roll out Omnifone's award-winning MusicStation, giving customers the ability to download unlimited music directly to their mobile handsets.

MusicStation provides access to more than 1 million music tracks from major labels including Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music and Warner Music Group as well as leading independent labels. Vodafone customers will be able to sign up for unlimited downloads from MusicStation for £1.99 per week and many of them will be able to use their existing handsets to access the service which will be available before Christmas. Vodafone is also producing a range of new handsets to coincide with the launch.

Harbottle & Lewis has advised Omnifone on various arrangements in relation to its exclusive agreement with Vodafone. The firm has advised on content licensing agreements with Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, EMI Music and Warner Music Group and other content owners in relation to MusicStation and contiues to act for Omnifone in connection with the roll-out of MusicStation outside the UK.
