Barrister Alison Maclennan joins Harbottle & Lewis Charities Group

Harbottle & Lewis is delighted to announce that Alison Maclennan, previously a barrister with Radcliffe Chambers, is to join the firm as Head of the Charities Group. The firm is already well known for its work across the charity and voluntary sector and Alison's experience and expertise will enable it to expand its presence in the area. She will take up her new role on 15 September 2008.

Alison specialises in all aspects of the law relating to charities and associations, particularly in relation to trusts and estates, legacies, general commercial and contractual disputes, schemes and constitutional issues. Alison is a regular speaker at charity law conferences and seminars and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Charity Law Association. Additionally, she has published a number of articles and is author of Running a Charity and co-author of Blackstone's Guide to the Charities Act 2006.
