Statutory Payments

From April 2010, the following changes will be made to statutory payments:

• From 4 April - statutory adoption, maternity and paternity pay and maternity allowance will all increase from £123.06 to £124.88 per week;
• From 6 April - the earnings threshold for statutory adoption, maternity, paternity and sick pay will increase from £95.00 to £97.00 per week; and
• From 6 April – the rate of statutory sick pay for employees earning £97.00 or more per week will remain at the current rate of £79.15 per week.

Action Steps

Ensure that adoption, maternity, paternity and sickness policies have been updated to reflect the changes to statutory payments.
