Harbottle & Lewis advises Frederick Warne on new Beatrix Potter animated TV series

Harbottle & Lewis has completed an arrangement between Frederick Warne and Chorion to create an animated TV series based on the original works of Beatrix Potter.

The children’s TV series, which is scheduled for first broadcast in 2011, will feature much-loved characters such as Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-duck and Benjamin Bunny.

The deal also includes the publication of new books and the creation of merchandise based on the TV series, as well as an extension and amendment to the existing merchandising arrangements relating to the original Beatrix Potter works.

Harbottle and Lewis advised Frederick Warne, a subsidiary of Penguin Books, on all aspects of the deal. Commercial Partner Mark Phillips led the team assisted by Medwyn Jones and Alan Moss from the Television and Broadcasting Groups.
