Film and Television | Overview

Our highly regarded film and television lawyers act for many of the leading independent film and television production companies both in the UK and worldwide, as well as sales agents, distributors, film studios, facilities houses, banks, EIS and other tax-related financing schemes, regional subsidy funds, completion guarantors, talent agents, broadcasters, programme sponsors, sports rights organisers and event organisers.

Film

The team's work covers all aspects of film including structuring co-productions, pre-sales, equity and tax based funding and bank finance arrangements throughout all stages in the life-cycle of a film, from development through to financing, production and distribution.

Television

Our work in television covers drama, entertainment, factual and children's programming as well as sponsorship, sports rights, programme compliance and programme clearance issues.

New Media

We increasingly advise on digital formats, enhanced interactive television, IPTV, broadband distribution, mobile content and other aspects of developing media for film and television. Advising advertisers and broadcasters on television advertising, sponsorship and product placement issues both in the traditional forms of media and the emerging digital and mobile markets is also one of our strengths.

Broadcasting

Our team's expertise includes advising on all aspects of broadcasting, including licence applications, carriage agreements, programme codes, sponsorship and compliance issues.
