Our Finance Practice, led by Alison Wilds, is made up of senior lawyers with extensive specialist debt finance and security experience gained from leading finance practices based in the City of London and international law firms. Our team has experience of all types of financing, particularly asset and structured finance, and are also experienced in dealing with multi-jurisdictional and cross-border issues.

We act for lenders and borrowers, owners/lessees of large moveable assets, leading media corporates, film financiers and producers, as well as a wide range of companies and individuals with finance needs.

Specialist Advice

Our practice encompasses:

• Asset Finance and Leasing - principally advising airlines, aircraft owners (private and commercial aircraft) in relation to aircraft and engine financing, operating and leasing (together with related security issues), plus used aircraft sales and purchases. We also have experience in financing other assets such as luxury private yachts.
• Lending - advising lenders and borrowers on a wide spectrum of loan documentation, ranging from structured facilities, term and revolving bank facilities and receivables financings to more informal facility letters and short term loan arrangements.
• Creation and Enforcement of Security - drafting, negotiating and advising upon a wide range of security documentation and structures, including guarantees and debentures, asset/account/share charges and other forms of security. We advise upon the supplementing, enforcement or release of existing security, where we work closely with our Insolvency and Litigation Groups.
• Sale/purchase of debt (par and distressed) and all other types of receivables purchase programmes.
• Debt Restructuring - we advise on all aspects of debt-restructuring, corporate rescue and insolvency.
• Intercreditor Issues - drafting, negotiating and advising on intercreditor arrangements, including senior, mezzanine and subordinated debt arrangements.
• Other Finance - we advise on a broad range of other finance matters, including letters of credit, performance bonds/guarantees and loan notes, and have been involved in industry related securitisations, management buy-outs and the finance aspects of various transactions in connection with the acquisition or disposal of shares and other assets.
