John is a Solicitor in the Corporate, Commercial and Growth Capital Practices and is a member of the Interactive Entertainment and Charities Groups.
He advises clients on a range of corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structuring, shareholder arrangements, fundraising and commercial contracts.
Recently John has advised MAMA Group plc on its joint venture with, and subsequent recommended takeover offer by, HMV Group plc. He has also acted for television production company, Hat Trick Holdings Limited, on its buy-back of a 45% shareholding that was held by a private equity investor and advised on subsequent arrangements entered into between the individual shareholders in the company.
John read law at the University of Edinburgh and trained at Shepherd and Wedderburn, qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland before joining Harbottle & Lewis in September 2007. John qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in July 2008.
