People | Alison Maclennan
Alison is head of the Charities Group. She specialises in all aspects of the law relating to charities and associations, particularly in relation to trusts and estates, legacies, general commercial and contractual disputes, schemes and constitutional issues. Before joining Harbottle & Lewis, Alison practised at Radcliffe Chambers, concentrating mainly on charities, and has a wide range of advisory and litigation experience in the High Court.
Alison has been commended by legal directories such as Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Charity Law Association. She also regularly speaks at charity law conferences and seminars.
Alison attended Christ's Hospital school, University of Reading, and took the bar vocational course at the Inns of Court School of Law. She also taught at College of Law and Reading University. Alison joined Harbottle & Lewis in September 2008.
