Howard is a Partner and Head of the Employment Practice and is a recognised employment law expert in the legal guides (The Legal 500 and Chambers).
Drawing from a wealth of experience in acting for both employers and senior executives, Howard provides advice on a comprehensive range of contentious and non contentious employment law issues and has developed a particular expertise in conducting high value discrimination cases (both before the employment tribunal and the appellate courts), advising on senior executive terminations, director/shareholder disputes and restrictive covenant injunctions.
Howard represents clients in the professional services, online travel, and the leisure, recruitment and investment banking sectors, as well as those operating in the media and entertainment industry. He has worked on a number of high profile cases including representing Gillian Switalski, an ex-City employee who was claiming £19m compensation for work-place sex discrimination.
Howard sits on the Legislative and Policy Committee of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly contributes to and chairs working parties commenting on draft legislation. He joined Harbottle & Lewis in 2009 from Blake Lapthorn.
