People | Andy Millmore
Andy is a Partner in the Intellectual Property and Litigation Practices and is Head of the Advertising and Marketing Group, acting primarily for clients in the areas of music, television, technology, new media and advertising. He provides strategic, dispute resolution and commercial advice, and is an accredited mediator.
He graduated in Law from Cambridge University in 1982 and qualified as a solicitor in 1985 with Macfarlanes, where he became a partner in 1990. He was a partner there for 10 years, with responsibility for the firm's contentious intellectual property practice, and with a workload which specialised in IP (both soft and hard), particularly for clients with media and rights related interests.
He left that firm in 2000 to concentrate on other interests, as well as continuing his legal work for clients in the digital media industry. This involved him in an ongoing consideration of the developing nature of music distribution platforms and the opportunities and challenges presented to those involved in traditional formats, especially in relation to the management and licensing of rights for both content and media technology.
He was a Consultant with us exclusively from 2004, and joined us as a Partner on 1 August 2007.
