People | Sebastian Belcher
Seb is a Partner and co-head of the firm's Interactive Entertainment Group.
Most of his work involves computer games and other interactive entertainment and he also advises on other internet and new media matters. He handles a variety of commercial and corporate work concentrated on these industries, advising on matters ranging from development, distribution, licensing and other commercial matters to financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate activity in his specialist industries.
Seb is recognised as a leader in the field of computer games by the latest editions of both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners directories.
Recent work includes advising Eidos Plc, the LSE listed UK publisher on its completion bond-backed financing of two products and advising Take Two Interactive Inc., the NASDAQ quoted computer games publisher on its acquisition of development companies Venom Games and PAM Developments. Seb also works with the eCommerce & Technology Group.
He graduated in economics from Cambridge before converting to law and qualifying in 1995. He joined Harbottle & Lewis in 1996 from Slaughter & May.
