People | Robert Porter
Robert Porter is a Consultant in the Charities Group. He advises numerous charities on a wide range of relevant issues, including trustee duties and liabilities, governance reviews, cause related marketing agreements, funding structures and commercial arrangements. Robert also has niche expertise in IT law, and advises charities and other organisations on their IT arrangements.
Robert wrote a significant paper on the Charities Bill entitled A Charitable Act? Beyond the Charities Bill which was published by the Bow Group in July 2005. Robert regularly writes articles and delivers talks on charity and IT related topics.
Robert graduated with an MA from Cambridge and he joined Harbottle & Lewis in 1992 upon qualification. Robert is a member of the Charity Law Association and participated in their recent working parties on Charities and Human Rights, and Charity Investigations.
