Lawrence is a Partner in the Litigation Practice and has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of the entertainment and media industries, including music, television, film, publishing and sport. His expertise covers a broad range of disputes and he has represented many high profile individuals and corporate organisations.

Lawrence also works with the Music, Interactive Entertainment and Film and Television Groups as well as the Intellectual Property Practice.

Amongst the best known cases Lawrence has worked on are Warner Bros v Channel 4 (Clockwork Orange), Ludlow v EMI (Jesus In A Camper Van), Arief v Celador (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire) Fisher v Brooker (A Whiter Shade of Pale) and Experience Hendrix v Chalpin. He also advised a number of Syndicates and Company Insurers in the film insurance claims in the Commercial Court in 2002.

Lawrence joined Harbottle & Lewis in 1996 from Denton Hall, becoming a Partner in 1998. A member of the British Association of Sport and Law and a member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, Lawrence writes frequently for specialist publications including In-House Lawyer, Video Home Entertainment and Entertainment Law Review. He is currently featured in Legalease's Legal Experts guide as an expert in music.
