People | Lee Gage
Lee is a Solicitor in the Intellectual Property Practice and member of the firm's Fashion Group.
Lee advises on a broad range of intellectual property matters, both contentious and non-contentious. Lee's primary focus is on brand management and clearance, trade marks, designs, passing off and anti-counterfeiting. Lee also has significant experience in relation to projects involving content licensing, all aspects of e-commerce, and intellectual property issues in interactive media.
Some of his work has included successfully defending an allegation of registered design right infringement made by a Mercedes-Benz subsidiary; settling registered design right infringement claims against a number of high-street fashion retailers; successfully settling a dispute concerning counterfeit garments for a major international brand owner; advising on branding, design and trade mark issues and drafting manufacturing agreements for the launch of a new international cosmetics line.
Lee is a co-author of Design Law (2004) published by the Law Society and regularly attends Anti-Counterfeiting Group meetings. He regularly gives lectures on IP at University of the Arts, London, the RCA and Own-It (the intellectual property advisory service run by the London Mayor's office).
Lee graduated from Queen Mary College, London University with an LLM. He qualified as a solicitor in 2002 at intellectual property specialist Briffa, joining Harbottle & Lewis LLP in 2004.
