Ben is a Senior Associate in the Sports Group and heads up the Sponsorship Group.

Ben advises on a broad range of contractual and intellectual property issues primarily, but not exclusively, in a sports and entertainment-focussed context including event promotion and staging, broadcasting, merchandising, licensing and other non-contentious commercial matters. His work in the Sponsorship Group encompasses sports, arts, music and charity events.

Ben negotiates on behalf of rights holders and corporate sponsors in golf, rugby and football and motorsport. He continues to advise the Ladies European Tour on all aspects of its business but in particular the sanctioning, promoting and staging of its golf tournaments. He also handles other matters for individuals and corporates in the areas of cricket and boxing.

Outside the sports arena, Ben has also been involved in the sponsorship of charity events, photographic exhibitions, music and cultural festivals and tours by bands.

Ben graduated from Birmingham University with a BA (Combined Honours) in Latin and Modern Greek. Having completed his CPE (Commendation) and LPC (Distinction) at the Guildford branch of the College of Law, he joined Harbottle & Lewis as a trainee and qualified as a solicitor in March 2003. Ben gained his Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Law from King's College London in 2004.

Ben is a member of the British Association for Sport and Law and the European Sponsorship Association.
