People | Alison Chin
Alison is a Solicitor in the Intellectual Property Practice. She is also a member of the firm’s Litigation, Fashion and Advertising groups.
Alison has experience in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work across an array of industry sectors, including fashion, film, theatre, interactive entertainment and telecommunications. On the contentious side, Alison advises clients on all areas of intellectual property, including subsistence and protection of rights, infringement disputes, trade mark oppositions, brand portfolio management and domain name complaints. She has acted for clients in both court litigation and LCIA arbitrations. Alison has also recently enhanced her litigation experience on a secondment with His Honour Judge Birss QC at the Patents County Court.
On the non-contentious side, Alison has expertise in commercial drafting and advice relating to licensing, commissioning arrangements, website terms and conditions, data protection and advertising.
Having studied law in both the UK and the US, Alison trained at Baker & McKenzie, qualifying in March 2009. She joined Harbottle & Lewis in November 2011.
Alison has completed the Oxford Diploma in Intellectual Property Law & Practice and is a member of IPSoc.
