Catherine advises on all aspects of Employment law, both contentious and non-contentious. She has particular experience of handling disputes in the Employment Tribunal where clients have praised the "coherent and compelling" way in which she prepares and presents cases. She regularly acts for both employers and employees in claims including unfair dismissal, breach of contract and discrimination. Recent and ongoing work includes acting for a large professional body in claims of race discrimination brought by one of its members.
Catherine’s non-contentious experience includes drafting all types of employment documentation, advising on disciplinaries, grievances, restructures, redundancies and contract terminations and negotiating compromise agreements. Catherine also provides practical training to employers on dealing with employment issues in the workplace and compliance with employment legislation.
Catherine joined the Employment team in 2010 having trained with the firm, during which time she spent six months on secondment to Virgin Atlantic's in-house legal team. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Businesses have historically been allowed to treat agency workers less favourably than permanent full-time employees. The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 (the "Regulations") come into force on 1 October 2011 and give temporary agency workers greater protection.
