Melanie is a Solicitor in the Litigation Practice and also a member of the Fashion Group. She advises on a broad range of commercial and individual disputes including cases involving contractual claims, professional negligence, insolvency (company and individual), fraud, injunctions, freezing orders and enforcement. She has also been involved in various cross-border litigation in the Cayman Islands, the US and the Middle East.

Her clients include limited companies, foreign corporations, insolvency practitioners and private individuals operating in industries as diverse as financial services, sports management, fashion, manufacturing, theatre and film. Melanie also has experience in property litigation both for individual and commercial clients.

Melanie is a Solicitor Advocate (having obtained her Higher Rights of Audience in 2008). She often undertakes her own advocacy and regularly appears in the High Court on behalf of her clients. Melanie is a member of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates.

Melanie is a fluent German speaker and spent a year studying German law at Trier Universitat. Melanie joined Harbottle & Lewis in December 2008.
