People | Paul Cairns

Paul is a Partner and Co-Head of the Interactive Entertainment Group as well as a member of the Sports Group.

Paul advises on all commercial aspects of the video games industry. He has considerable experience within the games industry, having spent over eight years with Electronic Arts where he was Vice President of Business Affairs for the EA SPORTS Label. Having originally started at EA with responsibility for European Business Affairs, he then spent two years based at the company's headquarters in California where his role expanded to cover Business Affairs for EA SPORTS on a worldwide basis.

Paul also has broad experience within sports. Having originally trained at Harbottle & Lewis, he then worked in the Sports Group for four years before moving to EA. While in this role, he worked closely with numerous sports teams, brands, athletes and governing bodies all over the world. He was EA's primary point of contact for FIFA, UEFA and many of the world's top football leagues including the Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish Liga, Major League Soccer. He also worked closely with many of the highest profile sports governing bodies in the US including the NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA TOUR and NASCAR.

Paul joined Harbottle & Lewis as a Partner in October 2008.
