New Equality Body comes into force

With effect from 1 October 2007 there will be a single equality organisation, The Commission for Equality and Human Rights. This body will replace the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Commission for Racial Equality and the Disability Rights Commission. It will deal with all areas of discrimination including disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation and age.
