Harbottle & Lewis develops new data protection toolkit for Publishers Association

We’re delighted to have developed a new online data protection toolkit in partnership with technology consultancy Stigmergist for the Publishers Association (PA).

The toolkit is designed to help PA members prepare for the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect on 25 May 2018, and outlines what members need to do to comply with the new regulations.

It includes a questionnaire to help publishers conduct their own data review; template policies and contracts; guidance on processing contracts; and a series of webinars.

With fines of up to €20,000,000 or 4% of worldwide turnover for large scale breaches, all businesses need to take steps to ensure they are ready and compliant by the deadline.

The Publishers Association represents the interests of UK publishers across consumer, education and academic publishing. Its members publish academic journals, textbooks for higher, secondary and primary education, fiction, non-fiction and learning resources.
