People Management: Mother of disabled child wins tribunal after being forced out of job

Partner Yvonne Gallagher has shared her views on a case in an article for People Management, which involved a part-time worker, Maria McKeith, who was dismissed from her job because her employer believed her disabled daughter was a bigger priority than her job.

Yvonne explains that employers risk acting in an “unlawfully discriminatory manner” if they dismiss or subject an employee to detrimental treatment because of their caring responsibilities for a disabled relative.
