Emma is an expert in AI and emerging technologies regulation with considerable experience in, and a strong reputation for, handling global telecom, cyber and internet regulatory matters where companies and investors of all sizes seek her strategic counsel on governmental or regulatory matters. Emma previously worked as a policy advisor in UK Government and has worked in private practice on both sides of the Atlantic. 

She is also an expert in complex technology or outsourcing procurements or supply chain issues including those that involve outdated infrastructure or assets in the retail, travel, payments and financial services and other regulated sectors where she acts for the disrupted and disruptors alike. Clients (lawyers and non-lawyers alike) often call on Emma to lead negotiations or regulatory submissions on their behalf as they appreciate her direct and open approach and ability to translate complex legal issues into business risk and value.

She is an international speaker. Pro bono work is very important to Emma; last year she spearheaded the investHER movement, developing the strategy to successfully reverse legislation that would disproportionately impact female angel investors and decimate the UK tech sector. She is also Director of the Interparliamentary Forum on Emerging Technologies; a not-for-profit that has built a global network of parliamentarians sharing best practice on AI and other emerging technology regulation. She is also s a founding member of the global UNESCO Women4EthicalAI, is collaborating with the University of Oxford in its AI in Education Hub and is a UNESCO Global Expert without Borders in AI regulation.
