Chloe advises individuals, corporates and organisations on a wide range of contentious and advisory matters arising from reputational risk. She has particular experience acting for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, business leaders, private equity firms and charities, often in highly sensitive and time-critical circumstances.
Chloe advises clients at all stages of a reputation matter, from pre-publication advice and crisis management through to post-publication litigation and settlement. Her practice covers defamation, privacy, confidentiality, harassment and data protection. She regularly advises on media enquiries, the protection of private, personal and confidential information, and strategies to prevent or mitigate the publication of inaccurate or damaging material. She has acted as lead associate in complex High Court and Court of Appeal cases including in defamation, privacy, data protection and breach of confidence. Chloe also has extensive experience in online reputation protection, including the removal of harmful or inaccurate content from websites and social media platforms, ‘right to be forgotten’ requests and complaints to online intermediaries. She also regularly advises on reputational risk arising from data breaches, investigations and Maxwellisation rights.
Chloe regularly writes and comments on developments in media, reputation, privacy and digital law. Her articles have been published in the New Law Journal, Solicitors Journal, The Sunday Times, Spear’s Magazine and the Society of Authors. She has a particular interest in emerging issues relating to digital content and artificial intelligence, and is a member of the Society of Media Lawyers and Next Generation Media Lawyers.
Chloe is a Solicitor-Advocate of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, having obtained Higher Rights of Audience (Civil Proceedings). She is recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ for Reputation Management in Legal 500 2026, with clients describing her as “compassionate and extremely knowledgeable about media law”. Before joining Harbottle & Lewis, Chloe was in the media and reputation team at Withers.
