Harry Bresslaw advises on commercial matters in the entertainment industry, focusing on issues relating to the exploitation of intellectual property.
He works primarily with clients in the theatre, film and television sectors, advising on rights acquisition and licensing, financing, development, production, distribution and other related sector issues.
Harry’s clients include US film studios, established theatre producers and high-profile individual rights-holders.
He also regularly supports emerging independent theatre producers, including participants and alumni of the Stage One scheme, as well as advising on West End productions and transfers, touring, dance and immersive theatre productions.
- Acting for Monty Python on the management and exploitation of its rights portfolio across various media and platforms.
- Advising the producers of the recent West End productions of Bitter Wheat and The Night of the Iguana.
- Advising the producers of various recent UK touring productions, including Motown, Grease and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
- Advising The Royal Household and The Royal Collection on a range of licensing and broadcasting arrangements.
Harry joined Harbottle & Lewis in January 2018. He previously trained and worked at the London and Amsterdam offices of Allen & Overy, where he advised on commercial contracts and non-contentious intellectual property issues.
Outside of the office, Harry acts as a trustee for touring theatre company The Handlebards.
